Paper Mario was played by Chuggaaconroy twice. The original LP was his third LP, and a redo of the LP was his 47th LP. The original LP was started on August 1, 2008 and ended on September 23, 2008. The total time in the playlist for the original LP is 14 hours and 11 minutes. There are 85 videos with two being final boss videos and two for the ending. The original LP was played on a Nintendo 64, while the redux LP was played on the Wii U Virtual Console.

The first episode of the redux LP was released on October 17th, 2022, and the final video of the LP was released on February 20th 2023, with a bonus episode released on February 27th 2023. This is Chuggaaconroy's second "redux" of a past series. There are 68 videos with one being the finale and one being a bonus content video entitled "Paper Mario Secrets", with a total time length of 26 hours, 11 minutes, and 23 seconds.

Announcement

A second Paper Mario Let's Play was announced on October 17, 2022 with the video Unfolding a New Let's Play. This is the second Let's Play redux, after EarthBound in 2018; 10 years after original EarthBound, while Paper Mario redux premiered 14 years after the original Paper Mario. Both reduxes so far have been from Let's Plays originally from 2008.

The redux Let's Play of the game contains tons of new information, goes for full completion, and uses every badge and ability at least once. His redux LP focuses on badge points and tends to have semi-important badges like Quick Change and Chill Out disabled. Late in the game, he focuses on abusing in peril bonuses, but does not continue for the rest of the game.

  • This game on Wii U Virtual Console is the European version of the game, which was optimised originally by the developer to offer gameplay and music speed similar to the US version. Demos and animations may run at PAL speed. The aspect ratio has been corrected for this release.
  • The redux Paper Mario LP was originally played on the Nintendo Switch Virtual Console, but was later switched to the Wii U Virtual Console after the first episode's release.
  • A month after the redux LP began airing, Chuggaaconroy began his Chugga Sticks It to Sticker Star video essay series.
  • Paper Mario is the first Mario and non-Mother game that Chuggaaconroy LP'ed.
  • For the final smash of the final boss he used a video of Ness, the hero of EarthBound, using PK Starstorm in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
  • During a Livestream with ProtonJon, It was revealed that the Redux LP was originally going to be Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr’s Journey, but it was changed because after buying the game and playing it for research purposes, it ended up being so bad that Chuggaconroy couldn’t look at the game the same way for a long time.
